What cookies are
Cookies are small text records that a website can ask a browser to store and return later. Similar technologies can include local storage, session storage, software development kits, tracking pixels and other methods that store or access information on a visitor's device.
Current use on ContractLens
ContractLens does not intentionally set first-party cookies, advertising cookies, personalisation cookies, account cookies or analytics cookies. The current static website does not use local storage or session storage to recognise or track visitors.
Because no non-essential cookie or similar browser storage is currently used, ContractLens does not display a cookie-consent banner. A banner that asks for consent to technologies that are not actually present would be misleading.
Hosting and technical requests
The website is hosted using infrastructure that may process limited technical request information needed to deliver and protect the service, such as an IP address, request time, browser information, requested page and error data. Processing a network request is not the same as storing a cookie in the browser.
Audience measurement
Vercel Web Analytics may be introduced as a privacy-conscious audience-measurement service. It is not currently active on this site. Before activation, the deployed implementation, privacy notice, security policy and this cookie policy must be reviewed together.
No analytics service may be described as cookie-free merely because a marketing page says so; the actual deployed site must be checked for cookies, local storage, third-party requests and other browser identifiers.
Future non-essential technologies
ContractLens will not activate advertising, behavioural analytics, personalisation or another non-essential cookie or similar technology before:
- the purpose, provider, data handled and retention period are documented;
- the Privacy and Cookie Policies are updated;
- consent controls are implemented where required;
- non-essential technologies remain disabled until valid consent is received; and
- visitors can withdraw consent as easily as they gave it.
Browser controls
Most browsers allow visitors to inspect, block or delete cookies and site storage. Blocking strictly necessary storage can affect some websites, although ContractLens does not currently depend on browser storage for its public pages.
Changes to this policy
This policy will be revised before the site's use of cookies or similar technologies materially changes. The date above will be updated when the policy changes.
